Philosophy in the Park
In July 2022, me and Dr. Martina Reuter had the privilege to discuss our research on women in the history of philosophy at the Puistofilosofia (Philosophy in the Park) Festival in the beautiful small town of Ikaalinen, Finland. This is a fantastic and truly philosophical event with an engaged and active audience.
In the first session, Martina interviewed me on the conceptions on gender and importance of female philosophers in Antiquity. In the second session, I interviewed Martina on her edited volume on early feminist thinkers from Christine de Pizan to Harriet Taylor Mill. The Finnish language book Miesvaltaa murtamassa was published by Gaudeamus, Helsinki, in 2021.
Videographer Houman Auriell recorded both conversations and the subsequent dialogues with the audience. On our Youtube channel, you can find all videos under the playlist “Naiset filosofian historiassa”. All the conversations are in Finnish.
